MiNyAk ZaItUn



Bila AchiKz tengok rancangan masakan kat AFC mahupun kat saluran Travel & Living mesti ada guna minyak zaitun dalam masakan.. Selain untuk menggoreng, minyak zaitun jadi bahan utama membuat vinaigrette untuk salad.. Jadi hari ni AcHiKz nak kongsi dengan anda gred minyak zaitun yang ada di pasaran.. Gred ini telah dikeluarkan oleh IOOC iaitu The International Olive Oil Council yang berpusat di Madrid, Sepanyol..

Extra-virgin olive oil
Produced by the first pressing of the olive fruit through the cold pressing process and contain less than 1% acidity. It is used in salads, added to the table for soups and stews and for dipping.

Virgin olive oil
It is made from olives that are slightly riper than those used in the production of extra-virgin oil.

Pure olive oil
Oils labeled as Pure olive oil or Olive oil are usually a blend of refined and virgin production oil.

Olive Oil
a blend of virgin and refined production oil, of no more than 1.5% acidity. It commonly lacks a strong flavor.

Olive pomace oil
Olive oil which consists of a blend of refined olive-pomace oil and virgin olive oil. Don't buy this grade, as it is bad for you.

Lampante oil
type of olive oil that is actually used for oil lamps.

Refined olive oil
Olive oil known as "refined olice oil" is made by refining the virgin olive oil. The final product is basically a tasteless olive oil.


Gred2 minyak zaitun ini datang daripada cara penghasilan minyak tersebut..
  • Virgin means the oil was produced by the use of physical means and no chemical treatment. The term virgin oil referring to production is different from Virgin Oil on a retail label
  • Refined means that the oil has been chemically treated to neutralize strong tastes (characterized as defects) and neutralize the acid content (free fatty acids). Refined oil is commonly regarded as lower quality than virgin oil; the retail labels extra-virgin olive oil and virgin olive oil cannot contain any refined oil.
  • Olive pomace oil means oil extracted from the pomace using solvents, mostly hexane, and by heat.

Maksud 'cold pressing' adalah perahan pertama yang dikenakan oleh tangan semasa memerah minyak zaitun.. Tetapi hasil yang diperoleh daripada pes zaitun amatlah sedikit.. Air panas ditambah kedalam pes tersebut untuk tingkatkan pengaliran keluar minyak semasa proses pemerahan..

Cara penyimpanan minyak zaitun
- disimpan pada suhu bilik yang jauh dari haba dapur mahupun sinaran matahari..
- simpan minyak dalam bekas kaca gelap, bekas porselin mahupun 'stainless steel'.. Jangan simpan dalam bekas plastik kerana minyak akan terserap kedalam bahan plastik tersebut..
